“Loneliness is the human condition. Cultivate it. The way it tunnels into you allows your soul room to grow. Never expect to outgrow loneliness. Never hope to find people who will understand you, someone to fill that space. An intelligent, sensitive person is the exception, the very great exception. If you expect to find people who will understand you, you will grow murderous with disappointment. The best you’ll ever do is to understand yourself, know what it is that you want, and not let the cattle stand in your way.”—Janet Fitch, White Oleander (via fourteendrawings)
Hi Anonymous. Valentines Day was pretty okay, thanks for asking. I hope yours was enjoyable as well. My treat for the day was having a delayed opening at work due to the snowstorm so I had an hour in the morning to take photos of some of the hearts put up around town by the Valentine’s Bandit(s). This was followed by going to work, coming home, having dinner, and going to bed. So I give the day a solid 8/10.
you are so fucking handsome; how come i only ever bump into weirdos when i'm in portland and not you?!
Pretty sure this was supposed to be directed at someone else, but I will take it. Thank you. You probably bump into weirdos more often because they are more sociable and there are more of them. My type of people tend to stay indoors and avoid eye contact with strangers for fear of rejection. Anyhow, have a pleasant evening.
If it's not too much of a bother, can you put together a playlist of songs you think capture the essence of Portland?
Hi there. Let me begin by saying that this is a wonderful question. To kind of answer your question, it would not be too much of a bother at all, but I am having a hard time coming up with any songs that make me think of Portland. I enjoy music as much as the next person with ears, but I guess I never really relate music to places. Maybe it’s lack of imagination or maybe I just listen to the wrong kind of music. If anyone can think of any songs that capture the essence of Portland, Maine then I’d be interested to hear them. Sorry I don’t have any suggestions.
